I’m Mina Grace ward! I'm the graves’ disease chef and i’m here to be your food and lifestyle guide & mentor on your healing journey toward wellness.

Having experienced the debilitating effects of Graves’ Disease and Hyperthyroidism myself, I understand the challenges and pain that come with this autoimmune disorder. It’s exactly why I decided to take matters into my own hands and find a different path to wellness.

My journey led me to create a practical step-by-step blueprint and guidebook, There Had to Be Another Way – Things You Didn't Know You Could Do for Graves' Disease, which is out now and available in the shop.

I also wrote a tested and perfected Cookbook, The Graves' Disease Chef - How to Master Simple to Gourmet Plant-Based Flavors from Around the World, that complements the guidebook, offering mouth-watering and healthy, wholesome, nutrient dense, internationally inspired plant-based recipes that helped me continue my mission of wellness and achieve remission.

How my body found HOPE + healing

Experimenting with food, recipe developing, cooking and lifestyle changes to support healing Graves' Disease and Hyperthyroidism.

When I was diagnosed, I was given two options. Radiation treatment or Thyroid surgery, along with a whole host of prescription drugs. I, however, refused to let my autoimmune condition control my life because I knew to my very core and in my heart, there had to be another way. My desire to get better naturally, led me through a wild adventure of experimenting with various foods from around the world and adopting intentional healthier lifestyle changes. I was able to witness first-hand how making the right food choices would eventually play a critical role in my overall well-being and eventual full remission.

It was through these changes that I was able to not just go into remission, get better and feel better but stay better while living Graves' Disease. Here's the best part... so can you! My cookbook and guidebook provide you with a journey of hope that will take you on a remarkable adventure noshing on nutritious plant-based recipes and learning practical and simple steps to achieve wellness once again.

The Journey of Healing THrough Food

This wild, heartfelt, and beautiful journey to wellness through food that pushed me from just standing on the sidelines waiting for change to happen to me – to me jumping in with both feet, arms wide open - creating the change I wanted to see for myself.

For perspective, it's not like I wasn't already eating healthy prior to my diagnosis. I was choosing organic ingredients and I had completely stopped eating fast food years before I was even diagnosed with Graves' Disease. Junk food always made me feel so poorly. So what went wrong?

THIS! We have not been shown how food can be a powerful tool for your well-being, lifestyle and health. If you think about it, it's not often talked about and more often quickly dismissed. After my diagnosis, I grew sick and tired of feeling so sick and tired all the time. It was exhausting. I knew things had to change and that's when I went 'cold turkey' and stopped eating meat, eliminated all poultry and seafood from my diet and embraced an all plant-based lifestyle.

I had no idea what I was doing when I began but I've been on this amazing ride ever since and it led me to full remission. I learned how to develop and create simple to gourmet plant-based internationally loved dishes and flavors from around the world - without ever having to leave the country - all cooked up in my home kitchen.

As I began to experiement with fresh, garden grown organic herbs, whole foods, real, clean foods, that are nutrient dense - the way nature intended foods to be eaten - along with spices and seasonings from around the globe, things began to change in truly significant ways. Food became my medicine. All the things I learned, I applied in my own recipe development, cooking, testing and perfecting because I wanted to see what would happen to me on this journey.
